THE MAGICAL AND CAPTIVATING BENEFITS OF THERAPY

NINA SHILLING, BERKELEY THERAPIST

My Approach to Therapy and what we may do together

During therapy my clients and I go on a mental and emotional kind of archeological dig. Together we unearth the treasures of their unique strengths, talents and beauty.

Therapy can reveal deep resources for healing and self-care that you can use for the rest of your life, even in difficult times. I consider it a privilege and a joy to go together on a journey that brings my clients to their core--that which cannot be tarnished or destroyed.

Therapy can release you from negative beliefs developed in childhood or picked up from our larger culture.

If you secretly doubt your worth, or if your standards for yourself and others are so high that you are constantly disappointed, together through therapy we can uncover your most basic beliefs and find out where they came from. This process loosens the hold of anxiety, shame, or anger, as well as depression and guilt. Then you will be free to discover strengths and good qualities hidden within yourself and gain a more accurate sense of self-worth.

Finally, as you begin to surface, chronic problems like unhappy relationships, addiction to stress, isolation and shame start to clear up or become workable. Therapy and your own creative wisdom allow you to re-evaluate what works for you in your current life.

It is really possible in this life for you to become the best judge of what you need. In the process of therapy you can find in yourself the joy, satisfaction and more stable mind that you’ve been longing for.

To find out more about this process or to explore what it could be for you, please fee free to contact me for a free 30-minute consultation either at my office or by phone. It would be my pleasure to explore this with you. You can reach me at (510)540-0813, e-mail me at ninashilling@msn.com or simply click here.
