Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Queer and Questioning
Your sexual orientation is such a personal thing. Yet, in our culture you often have to deal with the opinions, concerns and fears of others that don’t know you, or those who think they know you and are suddenly shocked to discover you are not the person they thought you were. As a result of your gender or sexual orientation you may be forced to confront the deep fears and disorientation that your life provokes in others. Clearly, in an ideal world, this would not be the case.
Getting support for your gender or sexual identity
Many of my clients have not been from the straight community. Together we explore the challenges that you may be facing in your life--with family, friends, parents, children, partners, co-workers, superiors and the larger community. We work to strengthen your commitment to yourself and your life, so that you can be true to yourself. You also may find yourself learning methods of skillful communication with others so that even when others question your identity, you don’t question yourself. I am happy to share all that I have learned of these techniques to help you make your unique life as harmonious and fruitful as possible. I also support you in your sensitivity to the concerns of your partner(s), so that your relationship can be real and satisfying.
Exploring sexual identity
If you are in the process of exploring your sexuality, I genuinely encourage this, so that your personal relationships and sexual orientation reflect who you really are inside.
Of course, in addition to all of this, I work with all of the issues that you face as a human being, so that your life can be as fulfilling and rich as you would like it to be.
