Teen Therapy (for Teens)

Adolescence can be a time of huge and sometimes confusing changes.  Your body can feel like it’s exploding with new energy.  This can be exciting, but at times hard to understand.  You may not always be sure how to use it.

Or sometimes people feel that they have no energy, or are completely stuck.  Friends may mean more to you than ever before, and how they feel may be more important to you than how your parents wishes.  Or you may feel like there’s no one there for you, but you know that you can’t turn to your parents.

This is the time to talk to someone who has perspective and is not in your family, and it really helps if what you say will be private.

You will feel better if you can tell that someone sees what you’re going through and accepts you, if you can feel they don’t judge you and can help you figure things out.

When I work with my clients, I treat them as an equal.  I don’t feel like I know it all.  Everybody has to discover the mystery of their own life.  It really helps to have an ally when you have to face the changes that life brings.

There’s always hope, and there are many possibilities for finding beauty in life.  Everyone needs encouragement.

I offer a free 30-minute session, which you can have over the phone or at my office, whichever you prefer.  You can use this time to talk about what’s going on for you, get to know me a little, and see how it feels to begin to figure things together.  You can contact me at 510-540-0813 or ninashilling@msn.com.  I welcome hearing from you.
